Family house
Budapest
Year of design: 2018
Location: Budapest XI
Status: Under construction
We were commissioned to completely renovate a multi-generational family house. The entrance led to the only shared space, the staircase. As a first step, we had to create a sufficiently generous interior. Therefore, we moved the entrance to the point closest to the gate of the building. The interconnected levels gave the opportunity to create additional spaces and views.
With the installation of the corner porch and the filling of the basement-level courtyard behind the building, the common spaces were given a new connection to the courtyard.
The building was built in the 1950s, with life-threatening, cavity masonry. For this reason, the planning process began with the strengthening of the structure, so we can say that the house was saved and at the same time transformed into a safe, modern home.
